Lulu Group to open five star hotels in London and Dubai

Lulu Group International, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has made a significant mark on the global luxury hospitality scene by acquiring London’s historic Great Scotland Yard for £110 million and transforming it into a lavish five-star destination. In tandem, the group has also launched a flagship five-star hotel in Dubai’s prestigious Business Bay district, reinforcing its commitment to curating world-class experiences for discerning travelers.

Steeped in history, Great Scotland Yard served as the original Metropolitan Police headquarters from 1829 to 1890. The property is renowned for its links to legendary detective work, including the Jack the Ripper investigations and its notable presence in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series.

Perfectly positioned near 10 Downing Street and Trafalgar Square, this Edwardian masterpiece — alongside an adjacent Victorian townhouse — has been meticulously restored and now welcomes guests to 233 exquisitely appointed rooms and suites. The transformation, completed after a £50 million investment, blends heritage architecture with modern luxury, and has quickly established the hotel as one of London’s most exclusive addresses.

Spanning seven floors with two subterranean levels, the hotel is managed by the esteemed Steigenberger Hotel Group. This property marks Steigenberger’s inaugural venture into the highly competitive London luxury hotel market, bringing their signature European hospitality and service excellence to the UK capital.

Building on this momentum, Steigenberger has expanded its partnership with Lulu Group to unveil a new five-star hotel in Dubai’s sought-after Business Bay. This marks Lulu Group’s debut in Dubai’s luxury hotel sector and further strengthens Steigenberger’s footprint in the Middle East, a region experiencing a surge in demand for premium hospitality experiences.

The Dubai property features 365 contemporary rooms and suites, all offering panoramic vistas of the iconic Burj Khalifa. Guests enjoy access to five acclaimed restaurants, expansive event and conference facilities, and a state-of-the-art spa and wellness center with a rooftop pool, providing a sanctuary of relaxation and luxury above the city skyline.
