Malta Classic again hosted by Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa

The Malta Classic—an unmissable highlight for classic car aficionados—returns in 2025, once again with the prestigious Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa as its presenting partner.

Renowned across Europe for its elegance and adrenaline, the Malta Classic (formerly the Mdina Grand Prix) has cemented its status as a premier vintage motoring event. Now in its fifteenth consecutive year, this four-day celebration of automotive heritage and luxury lifestyle is set against Malta’s stunning historical scenery each October.

This year’s edition promises an expanded program: the traditional Hill Climb, the celebrated Concours d’Elegance, precision practice sessions, and exhilarating timed races—all culminating on the renowned circuit surrounding Mdina’s ancient fortifications. The 2025 event will welcome over 80 participants hailing from the UK, Italy, France, Malta, and Switzerland, showcasing legendary marques such as Riley, Alvis, Ferrari, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, and Talbot, alongside rare collector’s models new to the circuit.

Festivities commence on October 9 with the iconic Hill Climb at Pennellu Hill, followed by an exclusive welcome soirée in Mellieħa for international competitors. On October 10, the Malta Classic Concours d’Elegance transforms the heart of Mdina into a living museum, where distinguished collectors unveil meticulously restored vehicles. Guests can enjoy live entertainment, period-themed attire, and gourmet refreshments throughout the day.

Drivers will tackle the challenging Mdina circuit on October 11, before the main Malta Classic Grand Prix races ignite the track on October 12, delivering a spectacle of skill, speed, and vintage engineering. The weekend concludes with an elegant awards gala hosted at the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, celebrating both champions and the spirit of motoring excellence.

Established in 2007 by French entrepreneur and classic car devotee Thierry Giovannini, the Malta Classic began on Valletta’s ring road, instantly attracting elite collectors from across Europe. The event’s legacy has since been curated by the Valletta Grand Prix Foundation, relocating to Mdina in 2011 to offer a more scenic and challenging venue. Today, it is recognized as a cornerstone of Malta’s cultural and luxury events calendar, endorsed by leading automotive clubs and travel publications.

During our recent stay, we found the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa to be the ultimate retreat for Malta Classic guests. This five-star property has recently undergone a multi-million euro refurbishment, enhancing its renowned spa, introducing new dining concepts, and offering privileged access to a private beach and championship golf course.
