New Dubai Tower set to eclipse Burj Khalifa

Emaar Properties has revealed the vision for ‘The Tower’—an architectural marvel designed to outshine the Burj Khalifa and become Dubai’s next global landmark.

Set in the heart of the expansive Dubai Creek Harbour development, The Tower is poised to be the signature centerpiece of a vibrant 6-square-kilometer waterfront district steeped in heritage, only a brief 10-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. Celebrated architect Santiago Calatrava Valls brings his renowned artistry to the project, fusing innovation with cultural symbolism.

While Emaar has maintained secrecy over the final height, industry insiders anticipate The Tower will soar beyond the Burj Khalifa’s 828 meters, reaffirming Dubai’s reputation for pushing the boundaries of vertical design. Unlike traditional skyscrapers, The Tower is envisioned primarily as a destination for visitors, featuring a breathtaking observation deck with panoramic vistas and the possibility of a select boutique hotel experience. This visionary project is central to Dubai Creek Harbour’s evolution as a world-class lifestyle and tourism destination, continuing to attract international acclaim in 2025.

Emaar’s Chairman, Mohamed Alabbar, shared, “This tower embodies the spirit and ambition of Dubai and the UAE, serving as a beacon of inspiration and hospitality for visitors worldwide. It stands as a symbol of Dubai’s enduring optimism and economic vitality, further elevating our city’s global stature.”

The design, inspired by the delicate form of a lily and the soaring silhouette of a minaret, merges modern engineering with traditional motifs. The slender central core, elegantly anchored by an array of steel cables, creates a visually striking profile that pays homage to the region’s architectural heritage.

Architect Santiago Calatrava Valls remarked, “Contributing to this extraordinary project is a privilege. Our collaboration with Emaar reflects a shared commitment to excellence, blending local culture and timeless artistry with groundbreaking technology.”

Although The Tower will eclipse the Burj Khalifa in height, it is expected to remain just behind Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, which, having reached the symbolic 1,000-meter mark, currently holds the title of the world’s tallest building. Nonetheless, The Tower is set to redefine luxury, innovation, and the visitor experience in Dubai’s ever-evolving skyline.
