Since Qantas debuted its elegant London Heathrow lounge, discerning travelers on its flagship A380 routes to Sydney and Melbourne have voiced anticipation for a premium champagne selection to match the lounge’s sophisticated design.
Initially, the only sparkling option available was Petaluma Croser, a well-regarded sparkling wine from South Australia. However, many frequent flyers expressed their desire for an internationally renowned champagne befitting the Qantas brand and its loyal clientele.
Responding swiftly to this feedback, Qantas leadership—according to Executive Traveller—has elevated the beverage offering at the Heathrow lounge by introducing Perrier Jouet champagne. This celebrated label is also served in Qantas’ flagship First Class lounges in Sydney, Melbourne, and Los Angeles, ensuring consistency across the network.
Although Perrier Jouet does not appear on the standard drinks list, it is discreetly available for First Class guests, Platinum One frequent flyers, and members of the exclusive Chairman’s Lounge upon request. Meanwhile, the Petaluma Croser remains a staple for all other visitors, maintaining a diverse and inclusive selection.
While the decision to reserve Perrier Jouet for select guests adds an air of exclusivity, some may question whether such a premium should be kept behind the scenes. We invite you to share your perspective on this curated approach to luxury hospitality.
