Norwegian launches seventh US route from Gatwick - to Oakland, California

Norwegian expands its transatlantic portfolio with the launch of London Gatwick’s only nonstop flights to Oakland, offering seamless access to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Beginning 12 May, Norwegian's new year-round route delivers direct connectivity between London and Northern California, with introductory fares starting at just £159 one way. The convenient schedule features three weekly departures: flights leave Gatwick at 13:35 on Mondays and 13:00 on Thursdays and Sundays, arriving in Oakland—serving the wider San Francisco region—at 16:35 and 16:00 local time.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, celebrated for its advanced cabin pressurization and spacious interiors, operates on this route, offering both Premium and Economy seating to cater to discerning travelers.

Oakland—San Francisco marks Norwegian’s seventh direct U.S. destination from Gatwick, further strengthening its presence following the addition of Boston to its growing network.

Thomas Ramdahl, Norwegian’s Chief Commercial Officer, commented:

“More than 500,000 UK travelers have already experienced Norwegian’s transatlantic service. With the introduction of nonstop flights to both Oakland and Los Angeles on the West Coast, as well as New York and Boston on the East Coast, we’re enabling flexible itineraries and fly-drive options at attractive one-way fares. Our goal is to make premium, comfortable, and affordable travel to the U.S. accessible to more UK passengers, all aboard our state-of-the-art Dreamliner fleet.”
