Virgin Australia has redefined luxury travel with its revitalized long-haul Business Class, now available on the Boeing 777-300ER fleet. Alongside these suites, the airline has elevated its Premium and Economy Space + cabins to new industry standards.

Introducing the Next-Generation Business Suites

Each of the 37 Business Class suites transforms into a fully-flat bed stretching 80 inches (203 cm)—matching the comfort of a queen-size mattress. The contemporary 1-2-1 configuration ensures every guest enjoys direct aisle access, a significant enhancement from the previous 2-3-2 layout. Passengers benefit from expanded personal space for productivity and relaxation, thoughtful storage, plush bedding, universal power outlets, USB charging, and a vivid 18-inch HD touchscreen entertainment system.

Signature Onboard Bar Experience

The Business cabin boasts an elegant walk-up bar, curated and attended by dedicated crew throughout each journey.

“With competition intensifying on routes from Australia to North America and the Middle East, we are committed to offering the most refined Business Class experience across the Pacific,” stated Virgin Australia Group CEO John Borghetti.

“Our reimagined 777 Business Class and refreshed Premium cabins are designed to make Virgin Australia the preferred airline for discerning travelers.”

The inaugural upgraded 777-300ER is now serving the flagship Australia–Los Angeles route.

Revamped Premium and Economy Space + Cabins

Virgin Australia has also enhanced its Premium and Economy cabins. The innovative Economy Space +—positioned in five exclusive rows behind Premium—provides extended legroom (34 inches/86 cm), a streamlined check-in experience, priority boarding, premium noise-cancelling headphones, and guaranteed first meal selection.

Chief Customer Officer Mark Hassell highlighted, “Economy Space + is tailored for travelers seeking extra comfort and efficiency. Exclusive crew service ensures a seamless journey for guests flying to Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi.”

Premium Cabin Upgrades

The newly branded “Premium” cabin now offers 24 seats, each with an industry-leading 41-inch (104 cm) pitch—setting a new benchmark for legroom among Australian carriers.

As of 2025, all five Boeing 777-300ER aircraft feature these reimagined cabins, reaffirming Virgin Australia’s commitment to exceptional long-haul travel.
