Qantas has unveiled its state-of-the-art First Lounge at Singapore’s Changi Airport, delivering an elevated travel experience across an impressive 1,000 square metre expanse.

This flagship First Lounge complements Qantas’ established International Business Lounge, together accommodating up to 240 guests. The space is thoughtfully curated for First Class passengers and Qantas’ most loyal frequent flyers, offering an exclusive sanctuary before departure.

“With this being our fourth dedicated Qantas First Lounge, we have once again designed the space from the ground up, guided by direct input from our frequent flyers. Our travelers consistently highlight the need for tranquil zones to unwind, facilities for last-minute productivity, refreshing showers, and the ability to enjoy a gourmet meal prior to boarding—enabling maximum rest in-flight,” said Alan Joyce, Qantas Group CEO, in a press statement.

Neil Perry, Qantas’ Creative Director of Food, Beverage & Service, has curated a dining program that pays homage to Singapore’s renowned food landscape.

“Singapore’s culinary melting pot is among the world’s finest. Drawing inspiration from its legendary hawker centers and acclaimed restaurants, we’ve crafted a menu that authentically captures Singapore’s essence without leaving the terminal,” Perry shared.

“The city’s cuisine is defined by its harmony of bold flavors, which inspired new signature offerings such as the grilled skate with sambal-infused brown butter and capers.

“Our guests visit the First Lounge at varying points in their journey, so the menu features everything from poached eggs with wild mushrooms on sourdough and salsa verde, to perennial First Lounge favorites like the chicken club sandwich and the celebrated salt and pepper squid—ensuring there’s something to delight every palate,” Perry added.

Dining and Bar

The open-concept kitchen serves a Rockpool-designed à la carte menu, updated seasonally and inspired by Singapore’s dynamic gastronomic scene. Highlights include specialties like tea-smoked duck breast with pickled cabbage and Chinese mustard, as well as a luxurious laksa featuring crayfish, bok choy, and crispy shallots. Signature classics, such as salt and pepper squid with green chili sauce, remain guest favorites.

The sophisticated cocktail bar offers a curated selection of premium French champagnes, inventive spritzes, and bespoke cocktails with a local twist—like the Calamansi Mojito, crafted from the distinctive Singaporean citrus fruit. Guests can also enjoy a comprehensive range of Singaporean and Australian craft beers, as well as an impressive portfolio of Australian wines. For those seeking non-alcoholic options, healthy beverages such as house-made kefir, kombucha, barley water, and the renowned Rockpool ‘House Lemonade’ are available. A dedicated barista station serves Vittoria coffee throughout the day, accompanied by gourmet bar snacks and fresh fruit.

Wellness

Wellness is woven into every element of the lounge’s design. Abundant live plants create a serene atmosphere, softening the contemporary interiors and enhancing guest well-being. Natural materials and a calming color scheme are employed to foster relaxation and reduce travel stress. The innovative faux ‘skylight’ in the shower suites and lounge area simulates daylight, helping guests recalibrate their circadian rhythm as they travel across time zones.

Workspace

The lounge caters to business travelers with both open-plan communal workspaces and semi-private lounge chairs equipped with high partitions. Ample USB ports and charging stations are distributed throughout, while wireless printing, high-speed Wi-Fi, and large TV screens ensure guests remain connected and productive during their stay.
