Qantas Opens New International Wing For New Nonstop Flights To London

Qantas has officially introduced a state-of-the-art international wing at Perth Airport’s Terminal 3, crafted to deliver a seamless and premium experience for travelers embarking on the airline’s groundbreaking nonstop Perth–London route.

Unveiled to coincide with the launch of its direct flights to London, the bespoke international wing at Perth, Australia, showcases a refined, tranquil atmosphere by catering to only one international departure at a time. This exclusivity ensures an unhurried environment, with the infrastructure designed for future growth as Qantas expands its intercontinental offerings.

Within this new space, guests can explore a curated mix of luxury boutiques and the latest Qantas International Lounge, blending comfort with sophistication. Ingeniously, the wing transitions between domestic and international operations throughout the day, maximizing passenger convenience and operational efficiency.

Since its opening, Qantas has also shifted its Singapore and Auckland services to operate from this innovative wing, enhancing the overall passenger journey for multiple routes.

The launch of this international wing marked Qantas’s historic achievement as the first airline to provide nonstop commercial flights between Perth and London. Operated by the advanced Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, this 14,498-kilometre connection redefined the legendary Kangaroo Route, reducing travel time between Australia and Europe to just over 16 hours—an unprecedented feat in the route’s storied legacy.
