Qatar Airways have opened their new business lounge in Doha

After an eagerly anticipated debut, the Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Doha’s Hamad International Airport has redefined the standards for premium travel lounges. Spanning more than 10,000 square meters across two expansive levels, this sanctuary welcomes up to 1,000 discerning guests at any time—equivalent in size to ten Olympic swimming pools, making it one of the world’s most spacious business class lounges.

Guests are treated to an impressive array of amenities, including multiple dining venues—from gourmet à la carte restaurants to elegant buffet stations and casual snack bars. Private rest suites, dedicated family zones, and a vibrant children’s play area equipped with PlayStation consoles and a Formula 1 racing simulator ensure comfort for all travelers. Additional features like serene prayer rooms, exclusive smoking lounges, pristine washrooms, and state-of-the-art shower suites enhance the overall experience.

For those needing to stay connected, the business centre offers fully equipped conference rooms, workstations with computers, printers, and scanners. Throughout the lounge, the signature “executive seating” areas provide a tranquil workspace, complete with personal reading lamps, power outlets, and real-time flight information displays.

At the heart of the lounge, a striking 15-by-7 meter indoor pool sits beneath a dramatic spiral staircase. Illuminated by dynamic underwater lighting and encircled by four grand chandeliers, the pool’s design creates a calming atmosphere that distinguishes the Al Mourjan Lounge from its global peers.

The Al Mourjan Business Lounge is exclusively accessible to Qatar Airways and oneworld alliance passengers flying in business or first class. While the Al Safwa First Class Lounge now serves most first class travelers, Al Mourjan continues to welcome select first class guests during peak times. Economy class passengers holding oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status are directed to alternative lounges within the terminal.

Presently, Hamad International Airport features a total of 16 lounges, catering to everything from arrivals and transits to unaccompanied minors and third-party guests. During our latest visit, the seamless blend of hospitality and innovation at Al Mourjan reaffirmed its reputation as a benchmark for luxury airport lounges worldwide.
