Singapore’s legendary hotel welcomes guests to a reimagined sanctuary of heritage and sophistication
With its doors now open once again, Raffles Singapore embarks on a transformative new chapter, blending storied legacy with contemporary grandeur. As the flagship jewel of Accor’s global luxury portfolio, Raffles Singapore has completed an ambitious three-phase restoration, meticulously orchestrated to preserve its timeless elegance while elevating every guest experience to world-class standards.
“Few hotels are as deeply woven into the fabric of their city as Raffles is to Singapore. With this extensive renewal, we invite guests to immerse themselves in the distinctive architecture, rich history, and signature service that have defined Raffles for generations,” shares Christian Westbeld, General Manager of Raffles Singapore. “Our vision is for every visitor to discover fresh inspiration and unforgettable moments within these walls.”
The restoration, directed by acclaimed designer Alexandra Champalimaud in partnership with global design powerhouse Aedas, has revitalized Raffles into a cosmopolitan retreat where tradition meets innovation. Guests can indulge in newly curated suite categories, experience vibrant lifestyle programming, and explore exclusive culinary destinations tailored for both international connoisseurs and discerning locals.
Throughout the hotel, the celebrated Raffles Butlers elevate the suite experience, ensuring every detail is tailored to perfection. The reimagined interiors and gathering spaces reflect a seamless blend of historic charm and modern luxury, setting a new benchmark for hospitality in Southeast Asia.
Jeannette Ho, Vice President of Raffles Brand and Strategic Relationships, notes, “We are thrilled to reintroduce Raffles Singapore to the global stage—restored, re-envisioned, and reinvigorated. As the birthplace of the Raffles legend, the hotel continues to define the very essence of emotional luxury.”
The newly enhanced Raffles Singapore now features 115 all-suite accommodations across nine bespoke categories, including the latest additions: Residence, Promenade, and Studio Suites. These new suite types expand the hotel’s capacity and provide guests with even more personalized options, each thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of place and exclusivity.
The refreshed Raffles Arcade showcases a curated Raffles Boutique alongside an array of luxury retail brands. Culinary enthusiasts can savor collaborations with gastronomic luminaries such as three-Michelin-starred Chef Anne-Sophie Pic, the celebrated French Master Chef Alain Ducasse, and acclaimed Chinese chef Jereme Leung. At the storied Long Bar, guests continue the beloved ritual of enjoying the original Singapore Sling and the whimsical tradition of tossing peanut shells to the floor.
Christian adds, “Raffles Singapore stands as one of the last great 19th-century hotels, and our restoration has honored its unique architectural heritage while crafting exceptional experiences for today’s sophisticated travelers. This vision is shared by our dedicated team and our owner, Katara Hospitality.”
Since opening in 1887 and designated a National Monument in 1987, Raffles Singapore has earned global acclaim as a sanctuary for the world’s elite. Revered by Singaporeans and international guests alike, the hotel remains a treasured emblem of the city’s culture and history, continually redefining luxury hospitality in the heart of Singapore.
