SAS Silent Morning Flights means quieter mornings onboard

Frequent morning travelers on SAS can now look forward to a more peaceful onboard atmosphere, thanks to the airline's innovative Silent Morning Flights initiative. Designed specifically for early risers, this service ensures a quieter cabin environment by minimizing non-essential announcements. After the standard welcome and safety demonstration, the crew refrains from making further in-flight announcements until the final approach, allowing guests to savor uninterrupted tranquility.

SAS, recognized for its commitment to enhancing the passenger experience for Scandinavia’s business and leisure elite, continues to lead with customer-centric innovations. The Silent Morning Flights program, now a permanent feature on all domestic and intra-Scandinavian routes departing before 9:00 am, was developed in response to feedback from frequent flyers who value a calm start to their journey. Most regular SAS guests are already well-acquainted with the onboard offerings and prefer to use their time to rest, enjoy a curated breakfast, or focus on work without unnecessary interruptions.

"Our Silent Morning Flights concept was created to empower our travelers to spend their time onboard as they wish—whether that means catching up on sleep, reading in peace, or preparing for a productive day ahead," shares Stephanie Smitt Lindberg, Product and Development Manager at SAS. "Ongoing dialogue with our most loyal guests revealed a strong preference for silence during morning flights, so we have tailored this service to meet that need."

Passengers will still receive the essential Captain’s greeting and mandatory safety briefing. Following these, the cabin remains serenely quiet until preparations for landing commence, offering a uniquely restful inflight experience.
