Singapore Airlines' A380 Takes Off From Heathrow

Singapore Airlines’ flagship A380 service

connecting London and Singapore

has been reintroduced with much fanfare, culminating in a vibrant launch celebration at London Heathrow this past week.

The event, which honored the Lunar New Year and the auspicious Year of the Dragon, featured a dynamic dragon dance and an immersive LED light display before the double-decker A380 embarked on its journey to Singapore.

The newly upgraded A380 showcases Singapore Airlines’ latest suite of cabin innovations, including the acclaimed First Class Suites featuring private double beds and luxurious leather recliners—an industry benchmark since their unveiling.

These newly refreshed cabins, first seen on select Sydney flights, now enhance every travel class—Economy, Premium Economy, and Business—offering passengers refined comfort and heightened privacy. Learn more about the redesigned onboard experience here.

Currently, the A380 operates as flight SQ322 from Singapore to London on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while the return sector is flown as SQ305, transitioning to SQ317 after April 5. Outbound flights from London depart Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Singapore Airlines has also extended A380 service to Hong Kong, with departures scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays as SQ860 (Singapore–Hong Kong) and SQ863 (Hong Kong–Singapore). The airline has indicated that additional A380 destinations will be announced as part of its ongoing fleet strategy.
