In a display of innovation and hospitality leadership, Singapore Airlines introduced a series of
«unprecedented in-flight experiences»
designed to delight aviation enthusiasts and loyal customers. BusinessClass takes an insider look at this remarkable initiative.
For two days in October, Singapore Airlines reimagined one of its grounded Airbus A380s at Changi Airport, transforming the superjumbo into an opulent, stationary dining venue. Guests were invited to immerse themselves in the carrier’s legendary inflight service, savoring gourmet cuisine in authentic Business Class and Suites surroundings, all without leaving the tarmac.

All four travel classes were available for this pop-up dining event. Each cabin featured bespoke menus, including international favorites and a curated selection of Peranakan heritage dishes crafted in collaboration with acclaimed Singaporean chef Shermay Lee. The culinary journey was complemented by a fine wine list, hand-selected by the airline’s award-winning sommeliers.

Beyond the inflight dining experience, Singapore Airlines hosted immersive guided tours at the SIA Training Centre, featuring flight simulator sessions, interactive children’s activities, and hands-on workshops for aviation aficionados of all ages.

Additionally, the airline introduced a premium home dining program, allowing First and Business Class menus to be delivered directly to guests’ homes. These packages included luxury accoutrements such as Dom Perignon champagne and Narumi porcelain. For those seeking the ultimate indulgence, a private chef could be arranged to personally reheat and plate the dishes in the comfort of the guest’s residence.
