Singapore Airlines launches non-stop Singapore-San Francisco flights

Singapore Airlines has elevated transpacific travel by introducing a direct, daily connection between Singapore and San Francisco, now a flagship route for the carrier’s renowned long-haul service. This non-stop journey is operated with the advanced Airbus A350-900, celebrated for its exceptional fuel efficiency and innovative cabin features.

On the launch day, flight SQ32 departed Singapore Changi Airport at 09:25 local time, touching down at San Francisco International Airport just before 09:00 local time. The inaugural journey was flown with Singapore Airlines’ sixth A350-900, which also marked a significant milestone as the 10,000th aircraft delivered by Airbus—distinguished by a commemorative logo on its fuselage, a testament to the airline’s longstanding partnership with the manufacturer.

This non-stop service represents the longest flight in Singapore Airlines’ extensive network, with durations ranging from approximately 14 hours 35 minutes to nearly 18 hours, influenced by prevailing winds and seasonal changes.

Passengers on both ends of the inaugural service experienced an exclusive pre-flight celebration at the departure gates, featuring curated cuisine and premium beverages in honor of the new route. The A350-900’s next-generation design enhances passenger comfort with increased cabin height, expansive windows, a wider fuselage, and ambient LED lighting systems engineered to minimize jetlag—an essential benefit on ultra-long-haul journeys.

Since first welcoming the A350-900 into its fleet, Singapore Airlines has expanded its order book and now operates a robust fleet of these aircraft, including the ultra-long-range A350-900ULR variant. As the launch customer for the A350-900ULR, Singapore Airlines has since resumed and expanded its portfolio of non-stop flights to North America, including direct routes to New York and Los Angeles, further solidifying its position as a leader in intercontinental travel.

San Francisco is now served twice daily by Singapore Airlines, with one non-stop and another via Hong Kong. The airline maintains an extensive U.S. network, offering connections to Los Angeles (via Seoul and Tokyo), Houston (via Manchester), and New York JFK (via Frankfurt), continually adapting its route map to meet evolving travel demand and deliver a superior inflight experience.
