Singapore Airlines has redefined luxury travel by empowering passengers with a new level of control over their in-flight entertainment (IFE) through its enhanced ‘SingaporeAir’ app.
Created in partnership with MTT and Panasonic Avionics, the SingaporeAir app allows travelers to browse the entire KrisWorld entertainment library, curate personalized watchlists, and seamlessly interact with the seatback IFE system—all from the comfort of their own smartphone or tablet.
“With the widespread use of personal digital devices and the continued expansion of our Airbus A350 fleet, we are proud to set a new standard in in-flight entertainment,” remarked Mr Tan Pee Teck, Senior Vice President of Product and Services at Singapore Airlines.
“This innovative platform delivers detailed content information and unrivaled personalisation both before and during the journey. We are thrilled to be the pioneer in offering this state-of-the-art application to our guests.”
Initially introduced on the Airbus A350-900, the app’s compatibility has since been extended across the Boeing 777-300ER and continues to be integrated throughout the airline’s long-haul fleet, reflecting Singapore Airlines’ commitment to technological leadership.
To utilize the personalised features, passengers simply download the SingaporeAir app prior to departure. Once on board, connecting to the aircraft’s WiFi network allows travelers to sync their device with KrisWorld, unlocking the ability to stream curated movies, TV shows, and music directly onto the seatback display.
The app also transforms personal devices into intuitive remote controls, enabling users to pause, skip, or browse content with ease. Singapore Airlines remains the first carrier worldwide to deliver this seamless integration on a Panasonic-powered IFE system.
Since 2016, the app’s functionality has expanded to support both tablets and smartphones, ensuring a tailored experience for all passengers, regardless of their preferred device.
