Singapore Airlines' new Premium Economy - here are all the details

Singapore Airlines’ acclaimed Premium Economy cabin continues to set the benchmark for comfort and value in 2025. Having debuted nearly a decade ago, this exclusive class bridges the gap between Economy and Business, offering discerning travelers thoughtful enhancements in seating, dining, and service. Here’s our expert breakdown of what to expect in the air, from seat innovations to gourmet cuisine and passenger privileges.

The seat

Singapore Airlines’ Premium Economy seats exude understated luxury, wrapped in sleek grey upholstery with sophisticated black and red accents. Travelers benefit from a generous 38-inch seat pitch, with seat widths of either 18.5 or 19.5 inches, depending on the aircraft. The 2-4-2 seating layout ensures ample personal space and easy aisle access for all guests.

Each seat is thoughtfully equipped with AC power outlets, dual USB charging ports, an adjustable reading light, a cocktail tray, extendable footrest, and dedicated storage for your laptop, tablet, headphones, and water bottle.

On the flagship Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER, the seats are crafted by ZIM Flugsitz GmbH, while Zodiac Seats US supplies the models found on the newer Airbus A350 fleet. The result is a consistently premium experience across all long-haul routes.

In-flight Entertainment System

Every Premium Economy seat features a personal 13.3-inch HD touchscreen, delivering vibrant visuals and intuitive navigation. Passengers can immerse themselves in the latest blockbusters, music playlists, and interactive games via Singapore Airlines’ award-winning KrisWorld entertainment system, powered by advanced Panasonic technology. High-fidelity, noise-cancelling headphones are provided, ensuring a cinematic experience even at 35,000 feet.

Food and drink

Upon reaching cruising altitude, Premium Economy guests are welcomed with a signature cocktail—choose from a selection including champagne, which is currently Ernest Rapeneau Brut Prestige. The main meal service boasts three chef-curated options, accompanied by a comprehensive range of premium wines and spirits.

One of the class’s standout features is the exclusive ‘Book the Cook’ pre-order service, now available to Premium Economy travelers on most long-haul routes. This program, once reserved for upper cabins, allows you to select gourmet meals in advance from an extensive menu. ‘Book the Cook’ is accessible on flights departing from major hubs such as Singapore, London, and Sydney, with the exception of ultra-short sectors like Singapore-Kuala Lumpur.

Menu highlights include dishes such as Rosemary Beef Brisket, Seafood Pasta in Tomato Basil Cream, Spiced Chicken Nasi Biryani, and a variety of Dim Sum, alongside lighter breakfast selections. The elevated dining experience consistently impresses, making Singapore Airlines a Skytrax favorite for in-flight catering.

Amenities

Onboard amenities for Premium Economy guests include an amenity kit featuring essentials such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, and comfortable socks. While more modest than the Business Class offering, these amenities provide a welcome refresh for long-haul journeys.

Check-in, baggage and bonus points

Premium Economy travelers enjoy dedicated check-in counters at major airports, streamlining the pre-flight process. Luggage receives a priority tag, ensuring expedited delivery upon arrival—your bags are among the first out, ahead of Economy class. The checked baggage allowance is a competitive 35kg, aligning with premium travel expectations.

KrisFlyer loyalty members accrue 110% of base miles when flying Premium Economy, a generous earning rate that enhances your path to elite status and redemption rewards. For Star Alliance frequent flyers, mileage accrual policies may differ, so it’s best to confirm with your specific program for the latest details.

Launch Date

Singapore Airlines debuted Premium Economy in August 2015, initially on flagship routes linking Singapore with London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Sydney. Today, this elevated cabin is available on nearly all long-haul flights operated by the Airbus A380, A350, and Boeing 777-300ER, connecting travelers to key global destinations with comfort and sophistication.
