AccorHotels elevates the hospitality landscape in Laos with the introduction of Sofitel Luang Prabang, blending French colonial charm with contemporary luxury.
Nestled within a meticulously preserved 19th-century mansion originally constructed for the French Governor’s family, Sofitel Luang Prabang stands as an intimate sanctuary with only 25 exclusive suites, spanning from 46m² to an expansive 120m². Guests are invited to explore an on-site art gallery and one of Luang Prabang’s most curated private libraries, reflecting the city’s rich cultural tapestry.
Each suite is thoughtfully designed with traditional shuttered windows, bespoke hand-carved wooden beds, and secluded private gardens. Select accommodations also feature private plunge pools, offering a personalized touch of indulgence.
"Guests will discover a distinctive harmony at Sofitel Luang Prabang, where storied heritage seamlessly intertwines with modern elegance," shares General Manager Pablo Barruti. "The peaceful ambiance—both within our lush gardens and the tranquil neighborhood—provides a restorative haven for travelers seeking solace from the bustle of modern life."
Culinary experiences at the property are headlined by ‘Governor’s Grill’, where diners can enjoy both indoor and open-air seating beneath a colonial-inspired marquee overlooking the gardens. The all-day dining venue, ‘The Library’, offers a sophisticated setting for light fare and bespoke cocktails. For wellness, the hotel features a serene spa, a 25-meter mosaic-tiled swimming pool, and a fitness center providing yoga and Pilates instruction.
Sofitel Luang Prabang is also equipped for events, with a dedicated boardroom, a refined lounge accommodating up to 70 guests, and landscaped gardens capable of hosting outdoor gatherings for as many as 200 attendees.
This property marks AccorHotels’ second debut in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, joining the esteemed 3 Nagas hotel under the MGallery Collection. AccorHotels further maintains a presence in Vientiane with ibis and Mercure brands, reinforcing its commitment to luxury hospitality in Laos.
