We were delighted by the enthusiastic turnout for our annual Easter quiz.
Many participants submitted clever and inventive responses, with some truly imaginative reasoning behind their answers. However, the majority reached the same conclusion as our editorial team: the correct answer is 34! We recognize there are different ways to interpret the visual clues, but here’s the logical process our team used to determine the solution:
1. Each four-engine aircraft is valued at 4 points (since 12 ÷ 3 = 4).
2. The figure of the man also represents 4 (subtracting 4 from 12 leaves 8, which divided by 2 equals 4).
3. With the man valued at 4, the passport also equals 4.
4. A two-engine plane, by this logic, is worth 2 points (following the same proportional reasoning).
5. When combining the man (4) and passport (4), a man with a passport is 8. The final calculation is 8 × 4 (man with passport multiplied by passport), and then add the value of the two-engine plane, which is 2. So, 2 + (8 × 4) = 34.
We will be reaching out to the winners, who can look forward to earning points to use towards their next adventure. Wishing everyone safe and inspiring travels ahead. Happy Easter from all of us at the editorial team!
