The New Super-Stretched Jets Taking To The Skies This Year

In 2025, both Airbus and Boeing are redefining premium air travel with their newest ultra-long-body jets. What innovations and passenger experiences do these flagship aircraft deliver as they soar into commercial service?

Airbus A350-1000

Leading the charge is the Airbus A350-1000, which has now been in active service with global launch partner Qatar Airways. The carrier, renowned for its award-winning business class product, introduced the A350-1000 to its fleet with a high-profile formation flight alongside the A350-900, highlighting the aircraft’s enhanced capabilities and design.

Qatar Airways currently operates 37 of these advanced, Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97-powered jets. The A350-1000, stretching 7 meters beyond the -900 variant, accommodates up to 366 passengers in the manufacturer’s standard three-class layout, thanks to its elongated fuselage.

However, Qatar Airways has opted for a bespoke two-class configuration, offering 327 seats: 46 of its industry-leading Qsuite business class suites and 281 economy class seats, providing travelers with both exclusivity and comfort.

Boeing 787-10

The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, the most spacious member of the highly efficient 787 family, has also made its mark on international routes. Singapore Airlines, the inaugural operator, continues to set the benchmark for luxury with its signature cabin experience. Other major carriers such as United Airlines, Emirates, and British Airways have also integrated the 787-10 into their long-haul networks.

Boeing’s 787-10 is engineered to seat up to 330 passengers in a dual-class configuration, though actual layouts vary by airline. Singapore Airlines has customized its Dreamliners with the latest-generation business class pods, offering unparalleled privacy and comfort for discerning travelers.
