A time piece of history

British Airways has joined forces with esteemed British watchmaker Bremont to unveil an extraordinary limited-edition wristwatch that integrates genuine metal from the legendary Concorde aircraft.

The exclusive ‘Supersonic’ timepiece is crafted with authentic aluminium sourced from the G-BOAB Concorde, affectionately known as Alpha Bravo. British Airways entrusted Bremont with this precious material, allowing the brand to create an exquisite collection that captures the spirit of supersonic innovation. The Supersonic features an eight-day power reserve, a radiant white dial reminiscent of Concorde’s unique reflective exterior, and deep blue hands inspired by British Airways’ signature color scheme. A subtle Concorde silhouette graces the sub-dial, while the case back—containing the aircraft’s aluminium—displays detailed engravings of Alpha Bravo’s registration, service years, supersonic flight count, and maximum speed. This bespoke collection is strictly limited: 300 pieces in steel, 100 in white gold, and 100 in rose gold, with introductory pricing from £9,495.

Alex Cruz, Chairman and CEO of British Airways, remarked: “Concorde stands as an icon of British engineering and remains integral to our heritage. Partnering with Bremont, a celebrated name in British horology, is the perfect way to honor Concorde’s 50th anniversary and anticipate our centenary milestone.”

Originally registered in 1974, Alpha Bravo was the third Concorde to join British Airways’ fleet and completed its maiden voyage in May 1976. In 1984, Alpha Bravo set a new record for the longest nonstop flight by an airliner, covering 4,565 miles between Washington and Nice. Later that year, it inaugurated the charter route from London to Seattle with a stop in New York. Alpha Bravo famously transported the England football team home from the 1998 World Cup. Over 2.5 million passengers experienced Concorde’s unparalleled service, traveling at twice the speed of sound and reducing transatlantic flight times dramatically.

Giles English, Co-founder of Bremont, commented: “Concorde was more than a technological marvel—it stirred emotion and national pride. We are privileged to introduce the Bremont Supersonic, incorporating Alpha Bravo’s aluminium, as a tribute to this remarkable aircraft. Collaborating with British Airways to celebrate Concorde’s enduring impact is a true honor.”

Nick English, Bremont Co-founder, added: “Concorde transformed the dream of supersonic flight into reality. Her design and performance set new standards in aviation, representing the pinnacle of British craftsmanship.”

A portion of proceeds from these rare timepieces supports the Air League Trust, a non-profit dedicated to providing aviation opportunities to underprivileged youth. This initiative forms part of British Airways’ broader Flying Start charity program, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to nurturing future generations of aviators.
