United Airlines has fully transformed its premium international offering with the introduction of United Polaris, setting a new benchmark for luxury business class travel in 2025.
United Polaris, named after the guiding North Star, now features across United’s global widebody fleet, including the flagship Boeing 777-300ER and the latest 787-10 Dreamliners. The Polaris experience is meticulously crafted to maximize rest and rejuvenation for discerning long-haul travelers.
“With United Polaris, we’ve elevated every detail of our premium cabin, delivering a sanctuary in the sky for business travelers,” shared Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines. “This is more than a seat—it’s a complete journey, designed for comfort, privacy, and innovation at every touchpoint.”
Each Polaris suite offers direct aisle access and a fully lie-flat bed stretching up to 6’6” in length, rivaling the world’s top business class products. The thoughtfully designed pod includes a customizable "Do Not Disturb" indicator, ambient mood lighting, adjustable lumbar support, abundant storage, dual surfaces for work and dining, a crisp 16-inch HD entertainment display, and for center seats, electronic privacy screens for added seclusion.
Polaris was developed through extensive feedback, including over 12,000 hours of passenger interviews and sleep studies, ensuring the product addresses the real priorities of today’s international business traveler. Independent research and continual refinement have led to a sleep-centric approach, making United Polaris a leader in the premium travel segment.
To enhance onboard rest, United continues its partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue, offering bespoke bedding: plush duvets, breathable day blankets, and both large and small pillows. Every traveler receives slippers, while ultra-long-haul routes provide complimentary pajamas upon request. Amenity kits, curated in collaboration with Soho House & Co.'s Cowshed Spa, include all essentials for relaxation and wellness—eye masks, dental sets, earplugs, and premium skincare products.
Culinary excellence is central to the Polaris experience. United’s elevated dining program features globally inspired menus, rotating quarterly to showcase regional flavors and seasonal ingredients. The wine selection is continually refreshed by master sommeliers, and the onboard service includes signature sundaes, a dessert trolley with artisanal petit fours, hand-crafted chocolate truffles, and curated wine flights for a sophisticated finish.
United Polaris Lounge access is a hallmark of the experience, with exclusive locations in key international hubs, including London Heathrow, Chicago O’Hare, and Tokyo Narita. Each lounge offers tranquil private daybeds, spa-inspired showers, and chef-driven à la carte dining in an elegant boutique setting. Guests enjoy a premium bar selection, gourmet snacks, and attentive service designed for seamless pre-flight relaxation.
Since the launch of the first Polaris lounge at Chicago O’Hare, United has expanded its network to include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Newark, Washington Dulles, Tokyo Narita, Hong Kong, and London Heathrow, with continual enhancements to amenities and design. The Polaris experience has earned multiple Skytrax awards and is consistently ranked among the top business class products worldwide.
