Accommodation

Set on a pristine 44-acre island within the remote northern Baa Atoll, Landaa Giraavaru is enveloped by lush native flora from its history as a coconut plantation. The resort’s privileged position in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve ensures guests are surrounded by thriving reefs and untouched natural beauty. Arriving is an adventure in itself: the journey from Malé International Airport (MLE) is a mesmerizing 35-minute seaplane flight—approximately 120 kilometers—offering panoramic views of turquoise atolls and coral lagoons.

Guests are greeted at the private Four Seasons lounge before embarking on either the resort’s exclusive eight-seat Flying Triggerfish DHC-6-300 Twin Otter or a 14-seat Trans Maldivian Airways seaplane. The attentive Four Seasons team ensures a seamless, comfortable transfer, setting the tone for an extraordinary stay.

Blu Beach Restaurant is the resort’s culinary centerpiece, capturing the essence of Mediterranean sophistication with its open-air, ocean-hued décor. Under the mentorship of two-Michelin-starred chef Gaetano Trovato, the restaurant introduces an exclusive Arnolfo at Four Seasons menu, artfully blending Tuscan heritage with Maldivian and homegrown ingredients. Twice annually, chef Trovato hosts guest chef events, while his protégés continue their culinary training at Arnolfo The Frame in Tuscany. Custom tableware and a curated Omellaia wine collection elevate the Blu dining experience.

The adjacent Blu Bar is a chic retreat for handcrafted tropical cocktails, fresh-pressed juices, and sparkling aperitifs, perfect for sunset relaxation before an Italian feast.

Al Barakat, named after a legendary North African scholar, presents vibrant Armenian, Lebanese, and Moroccan cuisine in a stylish overwater setting with both indoor and alfresco seating. Thursday evenings feature the Sultan Meze—a lavish spread of breads, dips, kebabs, and classic tagines.

Below, the Shisha Bar offers a cozy Arabian lounge for signature cocktails, Turkish coffee, and aromatic shisha, surrounded by opulent lanterns and plush seating.

Café Landaa’s trio of thatched pavilions, set among tranquil reflecting pools, serve Asian-inspired fare from open tandoor and curry kitchens, with interactive teppanyaki sessions. Themed nights—Indian Fridays and Fisherman’s Sundays—highlight regional specialties and the freshest local catch. Fuego Grill delivers relaxed beachfront dining with a focus on Maldivian seafood, organic meats, and Asian classics.

Seabar, set overwater, is the go-to spot for frozen margaritas and inventive tapas, while the Poolside Bar keeps guests refreshed with gourmet sandwiches, salads, and icy beverages throughout the day.

What We Love

Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru leads the region in sustainability, collaborating with Parley for the Oceans, the NOW Force for Good Alliance, and EarthCheck to minimize its ecological impact and champion marine conservation. The resort has pioneered transformative programs, including the Maldives’ first on-site marine biology team, the largest Marine Discovery Centre, and the introduction of coral frame structures for reef regeneration. The Maldivian Manta Ray Project, supported by the resort, contributed to Baa Atoll’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status and has catalogued the world’s largest population of manta rays.

Since 2011, the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre has released over 155 rescued turtles, while an expansive solar array now supplies a significant portion of the resort’s energy needs. Plastic waste is collected, recycled via the Parley x Adidas initiative, and available for purchase as sustainable sportswear on site. In 2025, the resort continues to invest in local reforestation programs to offset guest travel emissions.

Supporting local culture, the resort collaborates with Fulhadhoo Island artisans on coral restoration, sustains the Maldives’ last lacquerware makers, and partners with Design for Sustainable Development to promote craft innovation and women’s empowerment. Chef Gaetano Trovato’s mentorship of Landaa’s culinary team ensures ongoing skills development, with young chefs gaining experience both in the Maldives and Tuscany. The resort sources fair trade Maldivian produce, including locally caught seafood and tropical fruits.

The Four Seasons Hospitality Apprenticeship program, now in its 15th year, has graduated over 640 Maldivian students, supporting the region’s hospitality sector with skilled local talent.
