Set on the expansive island of Dhidhoofinolhu—one of the largest in the Maldives—LUX* South Ari Atoll is blessed with four kilometers of powder-soft shoreline and a shimmering lagoon teeming with marine wonders. Its location within a designated Marine Protected Area ensures an abundance of sea life: during our visit, we encountered everything from playful dolphins and vibrant reef fish to majestic whale sharks, manta rays, and sea turtles. With approximately 50 renowned dive sites nearby, the island is a diver’s paradise. 

Getting here is seamless: a scenic 30-minute seaplane journey from Malé International Airport delivers guests directly to the resort’s jetty. While waiting for the transfer, guests can unwind in the LUX* private lounge, which offers an impressive selection of refreshments and light bites in a tranquil setting. 

The Maldives comprises 1,192 coral islands scattered across the Equator, resembling a string of pearls in the Indian Ocean. The Beach Villas—at 95 sqm—remain a guest favorite for their direct beach and lagoon access, floor-to-ceiling windows, and open-air bathrooms. For extra indulgence, opt for a Beach Pool Villa (116 sqm) in a prime sunset-facing location. 

Overwater accommodations begin with the Water Villa (98 sqm), providing direct steps into the lagoon. The Romantic Pool Water Villa (110 sqm) offers a private plunge pool, sunrise-facing views, a suspended bird’s nest swing, and a retractable projector for in-bed movie nights. For the ultimate overwater escape, the Temptation Pool Water Villa (220 sqm) features a massive 14-meter pool, glass-floored living area, Jacuzzi, and sunrise vistas.
