Claridge's opens first ever spa - and it's way underground!

Claridge’s, the crown jewel of London’s luxury hotel scene, has unveiled its inaugural spa—a transformative wellness destination ingeniously carved five stories beneath the historic Mayfair property. This bold architectural feat brings a new dimension of indulgence to the 210-year-old icon, blending heritage with cutting-edge design.

Spanning an impressive 650 square metres, the Claridge’s Spa is London’s latest epicentre for curated wellness, seamlessly fusing traditional healing arts, advanced bio-therapies, and bespoke rituals aimed at nurturing mind, body, and spirit.

Located three levels below the renowned Claridge’s lobby, the spa is the vision of acclaimed designer André Fu, who drew inspiration from Kyoto’s serene temples and Zen landscapes. Upon arrival, guests are enveloped in Claridge’s signature scent, setting the tone for a tranquil escape where limestone, warm wood, and the gentle murmur of water create a restorative ambience.

At the core of the spa lies a heated, mineral-enriched relaxation pool, encircled by soaring vaulted ceilings and sculpted stone columns. Discreet cabanas offer private havens for repose, while guests can also enjoy state-of-the-art steam rooms and saunas. Seven oak-clad treatment suites, each with ensuite amenities, provide the ultimate setting for tailored therapies.

The spa journey is rooted in ancient Koh-do rituals: guests slip into plush kimonos in delicate hues, select from artisanal incense, and participate in a ceremonial foot cleansing before their chosen treatments—each experience concluded with the gentle resonance of ceremonial bells.

The treatment menu showcases a handpicked selection of world-class therapies, including La Eva holistic body rituals, Augustinus Bader’s award-winning facial and body treatments, innovative FaceGym sculpting facials, and exclusive signature experiences such as the Bamboo & Silk Ritual and the Detox & Sculpt Body Therapy.

Beauty connoisseurs will appreciate the presence of Josh Wood at Claridge’s, offering elite hair and beauty services in an intimate setting—just two chairs ensure personalized attention for hair, nail, and makeup artistry, all by appointment.

Claridge’s Spa welcomes both resident guests and external visitors daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, setting a new benchmark for luxury wellness in London.

Claridge’s is a proud member of the Maybourne Hotel Group, alongside The Connaught and The Berkeley.
