Kempinski takes over from Ritz-Carlton in Cancun

After Marriott International’s decision to conclude Ritz-Carlton’s quarter-century stewardship of one of Cancun’s most celebrated resorts, Kempinski has officially stepped in as the new management group.

Commencing operations in September, Kempinski—renowned as Europe’s longest-standing luxury hospitality brand—has seamlessly transitioned the property into the distinguished Kempinski Hotel Cancun. By the end of the year, it will stand as a flagship five-star retreat within Kempinski’s global collection.

Set along 400 meters of pristine Playa del Carmen beachfront, the hotel encompasses 315 elegantly appointed guestrooms and 48 expansive suites. Each accommodation boasts a private balcony or terrace, framing sweeping vistas of the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Guests enjoy access to eight exceptional dining venues, an exclusive club lounge, two outdoor swimming pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a dedicated children’s club, and an indulgent spa sanctuary.

“Cancun remains a premier destination for luxury travelers from both the Americas and Europe, many of whom are loyal Kempinski guests worldwide,” shares Bernold Schroeder, CEO of Kempinski Group.

Founded in 1897, Kempinski operates 80 hotels and residences across 34 countries, with more than 26 high-profile projects currently under development on multiple continents.
