Mandarin Oriental Palace opens in Luzern

Commanding a prime lakeside location along the shimmering shores of Lake Lucerne, the legendary Mandarin Oriental Palace has unveiled its spectacular transformation after a meticulous, multi-year restoration. This Belle Époque masterpiece, now reborn with contemporary sophistication, offers guests unrivaled views of the Swiss Alps and seamless access to Lucerne’s enchanting old town. The property stands as the city’s premier address for discerning travelers seeking refined luxury.

Originally debuting in 1906, the Palace now features 136 elegantly redesigned guestrooms, including 48 expansive suites. Among these, the signature Presidential Suite and two Panoramic Rooftop Terrace Suites deliver sweeping 360-degree vistas across Lake Lucerne and the Alpine peaks from generously sized private terraces. Many accommodations are enhanced with balconies or terraces, inviting guests to soak in breathtaking scenery. Every room is appointed with high-end Diptyque and Dyson amenities, advanced Bose sound systems, and Nespresso coffee makers for a bespoke in-room experience.

Culinary excellence is at the heart of the hotel, led by Michelin-starred Executive Chef Gilad Peled. The MOzern Bar & Brasserie delights with an inspired menu blending European classics and Asian specialties, as well as a celebrated afternoon tea service. For al fresco dining, Quai 10 presents Mediterranean flavors in a luminous, sun-drenched setting just steps from the lake.

Two new signature dining destinations, Colonnade and Minamo, now elevate the hotel’s gastronomy: Colonnade presents artfully crafted haute cuisine paired with an exceptional wine list, while Minamo offers an exclusive omakase-style Japanese experience at an intimate six-seat counter—both earning acclaim since their opening in early 2025.

Wellness seekers are invited to unwind at the SPA Bellefontaine, where La Suite Beauté delivers indulgent facial and body rituals. The comprehensive wellness area includes a state-of-the-art fitness center, sauna, and steam bath, ensuring a restorative stay for every guest.

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group continues to set global standards in luxury hospitality, currently managing 36 hotels and eight branded residences across 24 countries and territories, and frequently recognized in industry awards for excellence in service and design.
