The Dorchester, London reveals images of its stunning first-stage renovation works

Set in the heart of Mayfair, The Dorchester stands as one of London’s most iconic luxury hotels. In 2025, the property reveals the exquisite results of a meticulous, multi-phase renovation, setting a new standard for refined hospitality in the capital.

Collaborating with acclaimed French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, The Dorchester has reimagined its arrival experience, The Promenade, and its collection of guest rooms and suites. Rochon’s vision now extends to the new Cake & Flowers boutique, positioned at the Deanery Street corner—an inviting enclave where guests discover beautifully presented hampers, fresh floral arrangements by in-house florist Philip Hammond, and artisanal delights curated by executive pastry chef Michael Kwan. The boutique’s elegant display windows showcase a rotation of seasonal bouquets, luxury confections, and signature pastries—perfect for gifting or personal indulgence.

While honouring its celebrated heritage, The Dorchester’s transformation embraces contemporary luxury. The hotel’s historic façade is now accentuated by state-of-the-art lighting, highlighting its architectural grandeur. On arrival, guests are greeted by a newly landscaped forecourt beneath the storied London Plane tree, while polished green granite floors lead into a sunlit lobby adorned with two dramatic modern art installations.

Beyond the lobby, The Promenade enchants with a sense of theatre—serving as the hotel’s social heart and the setting for its renowned afternoon tea. Here, a curated collection of contemporary British art evokes the beauty of English landscapes, and at the far end, a glamorous new destination bar tempts with Champagne, seafood, and live performances. The Promenade has become a vibrant meeting place for both locals and international guests seeking an elevated culinary journey.

The newly refreshed rooms and suites reflect a sophisticated, residential ambiance, with soft hues inspired by English gardens—think gentle leaf greens, delicate rose pinks, heather blues, and subtle lemon yellows. The introduction of new signature and junior suites ensures guests enjoy spacious layouts, bespoke furnishings, and all the comforts of a private London residence.

Internationally renowned designer Martin Brudnizki has re-envisioned the hotel’s bar, channeling the exuberance of the 1930s. The space features a striking Palladium leaf ceiling, intimate snugs, and a curated collection of original Cecil Beaton photography alongside contemporary art. The redesigned bar now boasts its own Park Lane entrance and an outdoor terrace with sweeping Hyde Park views—creating an atmospheric setting for both daytime relaxation and evening glamour.

Throughout the renovation, The Dorchester has remained open, continuing to welcome discerning travellers. Afternoon tea is served in the elegant Orchid Room, while The Grill, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester, China Tang, and the award-winning Dorchester Spa remain fully operational, offering guests the property’s full suite of world-class amenities.

As the flagship of the Dorchester Collection, The Dorchester has welcomed guests since 1931. With each thoughtful update, the hotel reaffirms its place among the world’s most legendary luxury destinations—where tradition and innovation blend seamlessly for an unrivaled guest experience.
