Air China launches new Business Class suite

Air China, the flagship carrier of the People's Republic, has introduced its latest Business Class suites for the Airbus A350-900 fleet—featuring the innovative Recaro CL6720 seat, now equipped with full-length privacy doors for a more exclusive in-flight experience.

As a prominent Star Alliance partner, Air China has begun outfitting its new and retrofitted A350-900s with this advanced German-engineered suite, with the rollout continuing through 2025. The airline has doubled down on luxury and efficiency: the new Recaro model is among the lightest all-aisle-access Business Class seats available, contributing to reduced fuel consumption and a lower carbon footprint. The CL6720, tailored to Air China's specifications, is designed for optimal comfort and ergonomics, reflecting the latest in premium cabin trends.

These bespoke suites feature a generous 1.98-meter (78-inch) fully flat bed, enhanced by next-generation memory foam and advanced lumbar support. For the first time in Air China's history, Business Class guests enjoy sliding doors for a heightened sense of privacy. The cabin layout utilizes a staggered 1-2-1 reverse herringbone configuration, ensuring direct aisle access and a spacious, modern ambiance.

Since the A350's introduction in 2018, Air China has prioritized key international routes such as Beijing–London, Beijing–Frankfurt, and Beijing–Milan, as well as high-frequency domestic sectors like Beijing–Shanghai. The new suite elevates the passenger experience on these flagship routes and positions Air China among Asia's leading luxury carriers.

Each A350-900 is configured with 32 Business Class seats (1-2-1), 24 Premium Economy seats (2-4-2), and a refreshed Economy cabin accommodating just over 250 passengers. While Air China continues to operate Boeing 747-8 and 777-300ER aircraft, these feature a legacy 2-2-2 Business Class layout, which is now outpaced by the privacy and comfort of the new A350 suite.
