China Airlines, the flagship carrier of Taiwan, has set a new standard for regional premium travel by equipping its latest Airbus A321neo aircraft with genuine full-flat Business Class seats.
The next-generation A321neo, a state-of-the-art narrowbody jet with a range of up to 7,400 kilometers, is now a cornerstone of the airline’s modernized fleet. As of 2025, China Airlines has received the majority of its order for 25 A321neo aircraft from Airbus, each outfitted to enhance comfort and privacy on short- and medium-haul routes.
Every A321neo is configured with 12 Business Class seats arranged 2-2 across the cabin. While window passengers still need to step over their neighbor to access the aisle, the design prioritizes spaciousness and privacy, with high partitions that create a cocoon-like environment for each traveler.
Each Business Class seat features a 15.6-inch high-definition display. Passengers can seamlessly control the in-flight entertainment system from their personal device, and the system supports wireless audio streaming via Bluetooth, allowing travelers to pair their own high-end headphones or earbuds for a bespoke listening experience.
This new A321neo fleet is gradually replacing China Airlines’ older Boeing 737-800s, ensuring that regional and cross-strait routes benefit from the latest in passenger comfort, technology, and fuel efficiency. With this move, China Airlines is keeping pace with other leading Taiwanese carriers such as EVA Air and Starlux Airlines, both of which have also invested in the eco-friendly A321neo platform.
