SWISS puts its inflight guests in a seasonal mood

Throughout December, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) transforms its inflight service to immerse guests in the spirit of the season. Passengers traveling during Advent and Christmas enjoy thoughtfully curated Swiss holiday specialties, both on long-haul and European routes, designed to deliver a memorable festive journey.

During the holiday period, SWISS enhances its Economy Class service on European flights by swapping the standard afternoon snack for authentic Swiss Christmas cookies and fresh mandarins, infusing the cabin with the scents and flavors of the season. On December 6th, marking St. Nicholas Day, Economy passengers on select routes are treated to the beloved “Grittibänz” bread figure—an iconic Swiss holiday pastry—alongside artisanal SWISS gingerbread, bringing a touch of local tradition to the skies. First Class travelers on intercontinental routes are indulged with a handcrafted gingerbread Santa from the renowned Confiserie Sprüngli, reflecting the airline’s commitment to luxury and authenticity.

Exclusive Christmas menus are also featured on all long-haul flights departing Switzerland from December 18th through New Year’s Eve. First Class guests enjoy a refined starter of duck consommé with open pumpkin ravioli, followed by a premium dry-aged Angus Beef Wellington accompanied by Perigord truffle sauce, and a showstopping chocolate sphere dessert filled with vanilla bean ice cream. Business Class menus highlight a sophisticated pulled duck salad with marinated chicory and plum, a tender corn-fed chicken breast drizzled with truffle sauce, and a decadent apple crumble cheesecake paired with cinnamon mousse and mulled wine gelée. To complete the experience, guests in premium cabins are offered Etter Christmas plum liqueur, Sprüngli holiday pralines, and Sirocco’s signature winter tea blends.

For Economy Class on long-haul routes, the seasonal menu includes a vibrant barley and pumpkin salad, followed by grilled chicken breast with jus atop a chestnut-potato purée and braised red cabbage, and concludes with a warming cinnamon mousse served with roasted apple compote. These festive inflight offerings underscore SWISS’s dedication to celebrating Swiss heritage and delivering an elevated travel experience during the most magical time of the year.
